To Shelter Livestock
In blizzard country, especially the prairies and northern plains,
designing wind protection for animals is tricky because structures will also
trap drifting snow. We have some guidelines for shelters that give the most
wind protection for the least dollars with minimum drifts in the shelter zone.
In the basics of wind shelters, we show which dimensions are critical, to keep
critters from getting buried in a snowdrift.
