Statewide Summary

The average temperature in November 2002 was 30.9°F. This was 0.7°F warmer than the 1895-2002 average, the 48th warmest November in 108 years. The temperature trend for the period of record (1895 to present) is -0.1 degree Fahrenheit per decade.

0.57 inch of precipitation fell in November. This was -0.14 inch less than the 1895-2002 average, the 37th driest such month on record. The precipitation trend for the period of record (1895 to present) is 0.00 inches per decade.

November temperatures generally ranged from nearly -3°F below normal at Rawlins to 5°F above normal at Sheridan. The statewide drought continues basically unchanged from last month.

Cheyenne

The average temperature in November was 34.4°F. This is 1.1°F warmer than normal. The maximum for the month was 63 °F on the 22nd and the minimum of 3°F occurred on the 25th. Precipitation total of 0.46 inch is 72 percent of normal. Snowfall totaled 8.3 inches which is 98 percent of the long term average.

    Laramie

    The average temperature in November was 27.3°F. This is 1.1°F cooler than normal. The maximum for the month was 58°F on the 22nd and the minimum of -9°F occurred on the 3rd. Precipitation total of 0.06 inch is 9 percent of normal and represents the 3rd driest November since 1948. Snowfall totaled 1.3 inches which is 19 percent of the long term average.

    Rawlins

    The average temperature in November was 28.9°F. This is 2.6°F cooler than normal. The maximum temperature for the month was 54°F on the 7th and the minimum of -7°F occurred on the 25th. Precipitation total of 0.26 inch is 40 percent of normal. Snowfall totaled 0.7 inch which is 9 percent of normal and is the 4th least snowfall in November since 1950.

    Rock Springs

    The average temperature in November was 29.3°F. This is 0.5°F warmer than normal. The maximum temperature for the month was 55°F on the 7th and the minimum of 5°F occurred on the 2nd. Precipitation total of 0.44 inch is 70 percent of normal. Snowfall totaled 2.3 inches which is 40 percent of the long term average.

    Evanston

    The average temperature in November was 27.5°F. This is 1.4°F cooler than normal. The maximum temperature for the month was 53°F on the 7th and the minimum of 4°F occurred on the 2nd. Precipitation total of 1.05 inches is 125 percent of normal. Snowfall totaled 12.1 inches which is 189 percent of the long term average.

    Big Piney

    The average temperature in November was 23.1°F. This is 0.1°F warmer than normal. The maximum temperature for the month was 50°F on the 20th and the minimum of -7°F occurred on the 26th. Precipitation total of 0.41 inches is 111 percent of normal. Snowfall totaled 3.0 inches which is 70 percent of the long term average.

    Lander

    The average temperature in November was 29.2°F. This is 1.1°F cooler than normal. The maximum temperature for the month was 61°F on the 22nd and the minimum of -8°F occurred on the 25th.
