Statewide Summary
Temperatures generally ranged from 3°F to 6°F above normal in the southern part of the state and 3°F above normal to near normal°F over the remainder of the state. Precipitation ranged from 6 percent of normal in Big Piney to 38 percent of normal in Worland. The drought has worsened across all of Wyoming and is approaching exceptional (1 percentile) level over the southern most parts of the state.
The average temperature in June 2002 was 62.9°F. This was 4.2°F warmer
than the 1895-2002 average, the 12th warmest June in 108 years. The
temperature trend for the period of record (1895 to present) is 0.2
degrees Fahrenheit per decade.
0.73 inches of precipitation fell in June. This was -0.97 inches less
than the 1895- 2002 average, the 7th driest such month on record. The
precipitation trend for the period of record (1895 to present) is 0.01

Cheyenne
The average temperature in June was 67.7°F. This is 6.2°F warmer than normal and represents the warmest June on record (since 1895). The maximum temperature for the month was 96°F on the 29th (record for the day) and the minimum of 39°F occurred on the 14th. A record high temperature occurred on the 1st (89°F) and on the 2nd tied at 86°F. Precipitation total of 0.68 inch is 32 percent of normal and is tied for 10th driest June in 108 years of record keeping.

Laramie
The average temperature in June was 61.6°F. This is 4.5°F above normal for the month. The maximum for the month was 92°F on the 30th (record for the day) and the minimum of 27°F occurred on the 11th (record for the day). Other record high temperatures occurred on the 1st (89°F), 8th (87°F) , 9th (88°F), and 18th (86°F tied). Precipitation total of 0.38 inch is 29 percent of normal and is the 6th driest June since 1949.
Rawlins
The average temperature in June was 63.0°F. This is 1.7°F warmer than normal. The maximum temperature for the month was 94°F on the 30tht (record for the day) and the minimum of 30°F occurred on the 11th (record for the day). Other record high temperatures occurred on the 1st (86°F), 8th (86°F), and 9th (88°F). Precipitation total of 0.09 inch is 10 percent of normal and is the 4th driest June since 1951.
Rock Springs
The average temperature in June was 63.9°F. This is 4.3°F warmer than normal. The maximum temperature for the month was 93°F on the 29th and the minimum of 29°F (record for the day) occurred on the 10th. Precipitation total of 0.07 inch is 10 percent of normal and is tied for the 4th lowest June total since 1949.
Evanston
The average temperature in June was 59.1°F. This is 3.2°F warmer than normal. The maximum temperature for the month was 87°F on the 25th and the minimum of 24°F occurred on the 10th (record for the day). Another record low temperature of 25°F (9th) tied for the day. Precipitation total of 0.16 inch is 17 percent of normal and tied for 12th driest June since 1898.
Big Piney
The average temperature in June was 55.8°F. This is 0.8°F warmer than normal. The maximum temperature for the month was 91°F on the 28th (record for the day) and the minimum of 16°F occurred on the 10th (record for the day). Other record temperatures occurred on 9th (24°F) and 26th (91°F tied). Precipitation total of 0.04 inch is 6 percent of normal and is driest June since 1949.
Lander
