August temperatures generally ranged from 2°F to 4°F below normal in central Wyoming to near or slightly above normal elsewhere. Precipitation ranged from 9 percent of normal in Big Piney to 161 percent above normal in Sheridan. The statewide drought continues unchanged from last month.

Laramie

Casper
The average temperature in August was 66.6°F and is 2.0°F cooler than normal. The maximum temperature for the month was 96°F on the 16th (tied for a record daily high) and the minimum of 36°F occurred just one day later on the 17th (record daily low).
