Surface Water Database

The surface water quantity database contains four types of data: daily, monthly, peak flow, and end of the month reservoir contents. Data items stored for each of the four types are shown below

Daily Sample Data

Parameters:

Mean daily flow (cubic feet per second)
Total monthly flow (acre-feet)
Total annual flow (acre-feet)

Monthly Sample Data

Parameters:

Monthly flow (acre-feet)
Total annual flow (acre-feet)

Monthly Reservoir Content Data

Parameters:

End of month content (acre-feet)
Annual average content (acre-feet)

Instantaneous Peak Sample Data

Parameters:

Annual peak flow (cubic feet per second)
Stage at instantaneous peak (feet)

Note: Annual is understood to mean Water Year.

Monthly flow data may be computed from daily values or from actual monthly readings depending upon the collection site. To ensure that all pertinent information is retrieved, the user should request that both sources of information be reported when selecting these data types.
