Wyoming Climate Atlas

About the authors:

Jan Curtis has been a research meteorologist and climatologist at the University of Wyoming's Water Resources Data System (Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering) since 2001. Prior to becoming Wyoming State Climatologist, he was a climate researcher at the Alaska Climate Research Center, University of Alaska in Fairbanks where he published several journal papers on climate change over Alaska. As a career Naval Officer, he served as a meteorologist and oceanographer in the Atlantic and Pacific. He holds a BS degree in meteorology at the City College of NewYork (CCNY) (1974), and a Master of Science degree in Air / Ocean Sciences from the US Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey, California (1987).



Kate Grimes is a recent graduate of the University of Wyoming with bachelors degrees in Geography and Art (2003). As a native Wyoming resident, her keen appreciation of Wyoming's weather and landscape was instrumental to making the revision of this atlas a reality.
